1. Sorry, Man, but I don't know Sufferatory! Could you give me any
information about your band? When was born this band...
Paul:
Sufferatory was created in 1998 on the ruins of two death metal bands - Traur and God's Grave. We had no problems with choose in our style. ONLY UNCOMPROMISAL BRUTAL!" we said. The music in the best traditions of Suffocation, Gorguts, Sinister, Pyrexia.
2. What about your demo tape?
Paul:
In May of 1999 we recorded our first three-track demo "Systematic Molestation". Now after the seven years this record looks very naïve to me but it was the first step of our creative work.
3. The CD"Compulsory Martyrdom" is your first oficial album or...
Paul:
Yes, "Compulsory Martyrdom" is our official debut album.
4. Could you tell me, why do you play brutal death metal? What does mean
death metal for you and what does mean Sufferatory for you? Is death metal
and Sufferatory component of your life?
Paul:
We play death metal because we really adore this music. And external factors promote on it: our Kazan city situates on the boundary of Europe and Asia. There are many ethnic, religious and social problems that influence to the culture of people surrounding us. So constantly living in this atmosphere we don't want and we can't play another music.
5. Could you tell me... What give you death metal and Sufferatory and
what take you?
Paul:
What do I give? I give all of me. All of my entity in our songs when I come to another rehearsal or when we play on concert. What do I take from music? It brings me satisfaction. The process of writing of our songs is very long because we usually have a lot of variants of using rhythms and melodies. And it is incredible pleasure to get the best result that can holds listeners on constant tension.
6. CD "Compulsory Martyrdom" have been released by Coyote Records? Did you
satisfied with this label?
Paul:
Yes, we satisfied of our label on the contrary we grateful them. They decide to release Compulsory Martyrdom" through the three years after recording.
7. I think that Coyote Records is promising label in Russia! What do you
think!? Is your CD limited?
Paul:
Yeah, Coyote releases mainly brutal bands and it's cool. However we don't know how many copies of our album sales now. But I know that we get a lot of very good references on our album from Europe and even USA.
8. Your music on this CD is killing... What do you think?
Paul:
Thanks for your high estimation. We always have tried and try to make killing songs without boredom and stupidity.
9. When I have heard your music first time I was very surprised with your
music, but the sound was or is so typical for band from Russia...
Paul:
You know Russian bands approach to world level of sound now. Have you heard Scrambled Defuncts or Mortem? Their sound is really qualitative! But "Compulsory Martyrdom" was recorded on studio that didn't have experience of work with metal bands before.
10. The booklet of CD is excellent according to me!!! But the cover of CD
is very similar comparison to cover of CD Cryptopsy!!!
Paul:
Hm, you are observant, men. But it's not so easy. On the cover of Cryptopsy is represented decapitated head of Ioan + But on our cover is Yudif with Olophern's head.
11. Your brutal scene is very big and full of brutal bands....why?
Paul:
Yes, there are many excellent bands in our country and our scene is very rich. And I think the one cause of it is that a lot of people love extream music.

Sure, we have plans about the next album. The program is almost complete. And of course concerts in Russia and other shit!
